This shampoo does what it says. I used it for colored hair extensions and so far, I am impressed. The color of the shampoo is not purple, but a dark brown color. It has a chemical smell, but not horrible.Overall, it works great
I was excited/nervous to try this product. My natural blonde hair has been getting lighter and lighter , and I wanted to get rid of the brassiness. I found the shampoo to be gentle and, along with the conditioner, the brassiness has been lessened. Next time I will leave both products in for longer. I had never used this type of product before, and I didn't want dramatic change. I left the shampoo on my hair for about a minute, and the conditioner for about 4 minutes. I was concerned that the shampoo wouldn't really clean my hair, but it did a good job and my thin hair is soft and manageable. I am very happy with this shampoo.
so I have super thick shoulder length dark brown hair with blonde highlights. im always looking for a good toning product whether it b a shampoo or a conditioner. (sometimes the products aren't even specific as to what kind of product they are.). so rt now ive been using its a 10. u get 5fl oz for $20. I get maybe 5 washes out of the bottle. its a purple creamy solution that I am not sure if it is a shampoo or a conditioner, bc it doesnt say so the the bottle.this product is completely different from ANY other toning product ive ever used. everything until now has always been purple, this product looks like super dark brown blood. its VERY WATERY, which is also so weird to me. I like that the company was paying attention when they made the packaging. I have another watery product that was packaged poorly and the liquid can come running out. this company did the rt thing and gave it a flip top with the ketchup lid (sucks back the liquid), therefore; if u just want to put the bottle on its side with closing it, u can. I was afraid the brown would dye my fingers like some other products I have used, but no problems here. u get 8.5 fl oz for $20, and it seems like it will last me at least 12-14 washes b4 I will need to repurchase a new bottle. so the color... the colors GREAT! my hair doesnt look so brassy and I swear the brown even looks a little lighter. I was really concerned when I was rubbing it in, bc my hair felt like straw and it was starting to tangle. at the time I was thinking strike 1; however, after I put some conditioner in, it was super manageable and u could really c a difference in the color b4 I went to dry it. I really liked this product. I like the amount for the price, the color of my hair, the soft feeling it left after the blow dry. Im happy and I would buy this product in the future to replace what ive been using. I hope this was helpful.update:I used the color mask silver toning treatment conditioner from this brand today with this shampoo and I was pleased with the results. my hair looks and smells nice.
I am always on the lookout for hair products that will tone my chemically treated blonde hair. For a couple years it was bleached but now I am transitioning back to lifting my black hair to as light a blonde as possible without bleaching. At this time half my hair is bleached and half is lifted so the effect is kind of an ombre from light brown to light bleached blonde tips. I usually use a some form of purple shampoo and/or conditioner to tone the brass but I thought I'd try this product. I was expecting the shampoo to look gray but instead it is a really dark brown. Per the instructions, I applied to damp hair, lathered and only left it on for not even a minute. Per the instructions, "for a moment," and then rinse. Follow those instructions to a T, as longer use will "intensify the result." Indeed once dried, my hair was more of a light, light brown than blonde, an effect I actually liked. If I had left it on any longer, I know this shampoo would have resulted in darker brown hair. It smells great but like most toning shampoos, it is a bit drying. I made sure to really soak in the conditioner afterwards and left it on for at least 5 minutes.
This purple/toning shampoo does brighten up my silver/gray hair. I have not had any issues with it drying my hair out but my hair is not color treated.I have not found a purple shampoo that lathers really well and this one is no different. It does the job but I always end up adding a bit more shampoo and then some water before I feel like my hair is clean. I also do always use a condition after a shampoo.I like the way my hair feels and looks after using this product.
